Origin Story: Beginners Mind
“In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, in the experts mind there are few” –Shunryn Suzuki... Zen Buddhism has a concept called Shoshin which means “beginners mind”. This refers to having an attitude of openness, eagerness, and lack of preconceptions when studying a subject, even when studying at an advanced level. Progress and development should be a daily aspiration. Adopting a beginners mind and committing to becoming a lifelong learner will open doors and thought processes you never considered.
